Ayumi Hamasaki you were…/Ballad single

All three covers are really beautiful and simple. They’re the best of the year. Besides this single is the best of the year 2009. The limited first press copies have card.

01 - You were...: As I said it in my previous post, it’s a beautiful winter song. It’s my favorite song of that beautiful single.

02 BALLAD: As its name says it, it’s a ballad. We can hear a mixing between Asian sounds and orchestral sounds. It is really slow and powerful. The chorus is quiet by contrast to you were…’s one. The instrumental part is really beautiful with the violin. The lyrics are really sad.

03 - RED LINE ~for TA~ : is a song that Ayu made for her fan. As I had thought before the single was release, it’s a beautiful and happy song. In the Future Classic countdown life 09-10, fans learn a little dance that is similar to the MY ALL one. The la la la la part at the end of the song is really nice. That song is not really special and don’t have original sounds but it’s really great for a b-side. I’m very glad.

04 - You were... (Music Box mix -retake version-) : Usually, I don’t like remix but if it’s orchestral version. That one is really original and beautiful. It does remind a bit the Marionette musical box. I’m very glad that she tried that kind of remix but I hope she won’t do more in the future. Otherwise, the charm will be wearing off.

05 - Sunset ~LOVE is ALL~ (Orchestra version) : that version is really pretty, beautiful, amazing, powerful. I think I prefer that version than the original one.

06 - You were... -Instrumental- : Bells, piano, violin and so on…mixed together to give a really nice melody. I really love that melody with its Xmas sounds.

07 BALLAD -Instrumental- : the arrangement is really beautiful. Here we can here the mixed between Chinese and occidental melodies. We can notice that Ayu’s voice do a lot of work in the verse because the instrumental part is really low. It’s really beautiful

08-RED LINE ~for TA~ -Instrumental- really simple with the electric guitar, drums, keyboard,…really nice for a b-side.

5/5
